A conversation is enough to begin.

Sessions take place via a secure video platform. You'll need a stable internet connection and a private space where you feel comfortable speaking freely. You can join from your computer, tablet or phone.
You don't need to be certain before getting in touch. The introductory consultation gives us a chance to talk about what brings you to counselling, answer any questions, and consider whether working together feels right. There is no commitment to continue.
What you share in counselling is treated as confidential and handled in accordance with BACP ethical guidelines. There are some limited circumstances where confidentiality may need to be broken, for example where there is a serious concern about safety or where disclosure is required by law. Wherever possible, I would discuss this with you first.
Yes. Sessions can be rescheduled or cancelled with at least 48 hours' notice. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice will be charged at the full session fee. The cancellation policy will be explained and agreed before counselling begins.
Sessions are usually weekly, at a regular time agreed together. We can discuss what is appropriate for you during the introductory consultation and review this as the work progresses.
There is no fixed number of sessions. Some people come to counselling for a shorter period, while others choose to work for longer. We can review how the work is going together and discuss when ending feels appropriate.
The introductory consultation gives us an opportunity to consider whether my experience and way of working are appropriate for what you are looking for. If I feel that another professional or service would be better placed to support you, I will be open about this and, where possible, help you consider other options.
If you're not ready to book a session, you're welcome to get in touch with any questions.
A first conversation can be enough to begin. There is no commitment, just an opportunity to talk and see whether working together feels right.
